Now that you've upgraded your engine and it's making tons more horsepower, it's time to upgrade your pressure plate as well. Don't waste time trying to use your original-equipment plate--it won't last long and can even damage other components. Ford Racing makes many styles of pressure plates that offer anywhere from 25 to 40 percent more holding power. Many are diaphragm types, and many have nodular iron or cast iron plates. Some can reduce pedal effort by 10 percent. These pressure plates can be used in everything from everyday street cruisers to drag cars and they come ready to be installed.
