With a pre-’79 block:
You’ll need to use the steel bellhousing. You can use your stock clutch components, flywheel, speedometer cable, yoke (for the 3550), etc. With the TKO, you’ll need the 31 spline TKO slip yoke.
You’ll need to “lift” your tunnel to get the transmission to fit. Here’s one way to do it (click here).
We now have a crossmember for this application! $ Call for details.
With our early Ford TKO, it’s pretty much a direct bolt in. You can use your bellhousing, clutch components, driveshaft, etc! This is your best solution.
If you want to use the std TKO, you’ll need the adapter plate for $150.00, and you’ll need to shorten your driveshaft.
For a post ‘79 block:
Same as above, except that you can use the Ford TKO.
For FE applications:
We also have an FE version of the TKO to allow for a direct bolt in.
