69 Chevelle, GM TKO 5sp. Owner: Mike Pell

I’ve had customers with 68-72 Chevelles tell me they fit the GM TKO under the tunnel without having to cut it as shown in the following pics. However, I had to cut mine. Here’s some additional pics of a 71 Chevelle

Here’s a quick-n-dirty cover. It’s simply a piece of 18” x 22” piece of flat steel formed over the top of the trans, and screwed in place. I used a piece of windshield ribbon to seal it all the way around.

The following pic shows what the opening under the cover looks like. I only cut the minimal amount needed.

With the carpet and console in place, you can’t tell the difference! Click here for addtional pics of the interior. I now have the console top plate, just need to get some pics of it.
